1. Best Solo Performer:
For a solo performer who is self-contained and plays one or more instruments and works with or without backing tracks as an instrumentalist or vocal/instrumentalist
2. Best Duo:
For two performers who are self-contained and play one or more instruments and work with or without backing tracks as instrumentalist or vocal/instrumentalists
3. Best Variety/Vocal Group
For two or more performers who work with or without backing tracks as a vocal harmony group.
4. Best Dance Showband:
For an ensemble of three or more performers who play for listening and dancing entertainment.
5. Best Tribute Show:
For a show, either solo or ensemble, who recreate or pay tribute to the work of other performers, or genres.
6. The John Campbell Fellowship Award:
For any individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the community outside his/her normal career in the entertainment industry. Submissions are to be made, in writing, to The Committee, Australian Entertainment ‘MO’ Awards Inc. Po Box 26 Windale NSW 2306. 7. The Johnny O’Keefe Encouragement Award
Best new solo performer or ensemble of performers who have worked in that capacity for less than two years.
8. Best Children’s Show:
For solo or ensemble performers who provide live entertainment specifically for children.
9. Best Specialty Act:
For one or more performers who specialize as a ‘sight’ act, e.g. jugglers, acrobats, magicians, circus acts, illusionists, puppeteers, ventriloquists, etc.
10. Best Versatile/Variety Act:
For one or more performers who performs as an act which contains more than one performance element; e.g. vocals, instrumental/multi instrumentalist and/or dance, comedy etc.
11. International Theme Show/Performer:
For solo or ensemble performers who present entertainment with an international reference.
12. The Hall of Fame Award:
The Committee will select five candidates for the Hall of Fame Award and these five nominees will be presented to the membership and expert panel in the second round of voting. Members and Expert Panelists may only cast one vote in this category.
13. The Four Kinsmen Variety Production Show:
For produced shows featuring several performers displaying a variety of performance skills or a package show presenting four or more performers and a rehearsed choreographed group of dancers. (This does not include international themed show’s).
14. Don Lane Compere of the Year:
For a solo performer who acts as a compere/host or M.C. at live shows or other presentations both corporate and variety. Both resident and non-resident comperes are eligible.
15. Tommy Tycho Best Accompanying Band:
For an accompanying band, resident or otherwise, which provides the highest standards of musicianship and musical support to performers. Bands from all venues are eligible.
16. The Slim Dusty Country Act of the Year:
For an individual male or female performer or group who performs country music.
17. Best Rock Act of the Year:
For a band or performer that performs rock material with some original content.
18. Best Technical Support:
For one or more resident technical staff of a venue who consistently provide the highest level of technical support in the form of lighting and sound to performers. Technicians in all types of venues are eligible.
19. Best Venue:
For a venue providing the best facilities overall for performers and the presentation of shows. All types of venue are eligible.
20. Rodney Rude Best Stand-Up Comedian of the Year:
For solo performers who delivers a stand-up comedic performance without use of props or costume.
21. The ‘MO’ Comedy Act of the Year:
For solo or ensemble of performers whose performance is primarily comedic and mainstream.
22. Best Female Vocal Performer of the Year:
For the best female performer who is primarily a vocalist.
23. The Ricky May Male Vocal Performer of the Year:
For the best male vocal performer who is primarily a vocalist
24. The Peter Allen Performer of the Year:
For an outstanding Performer or Performers, rating the highest score, who have been nominated in any of the previous categories.
